09. Mid-term Research Exhibition (2026)
Goldsmiths, University of London, London, UK
Research Exhibition / Installation / Sound / Experimental Notation / Sculpture / Moving Image / Publication
Mid-term Research Exhibition presented the first major consolidation of my ongoing practice-based PhD research, Ecosound Notation: Reimagining Scores amidst Ecological Crisis. Developed through fieldwork at Walthamstow Wetlands and the Yellow River Delta, the exhibition brought together sound recordings, experimental scores, drawings, material traces, cast sound sculptures, moving image, publications and performance documentation.
Across these works, sound, image and material move through processes of listening, extraction, translation and reactivation. Industrial infrastructures, wetland surfaces, nonhuman sounds and material traces become starting points for exploring how notation might operate beyond conventional musical representation. Rather than presenting a resolved system, the exhibition marked an interim stage in the development of Ecosound Notation: a space for assembling, testing and reflecting on the relationships between site, sound, notation and ecological encounter.
