To some extent, clocks and watches represent the industrial revolution, a sign of mechanisation and modernisation.
Clocks and watches can also represent time. Clocks and watches indicate time and space. They are multidimensional. The accumulation of time and the transformation of space are a characteristic of the Crystal Palace. Therefore, clocks and pointing needles can be used as useful tools.
The material of the plastic barrel looks like glass, and the material of tin foil looks metallic. As a result, they represent the iron and glass materials of the Crystal Palace and are a symbol of structure and medium.
I also started experimenting with rubbings, looking at three dimensions in two dimensions and back from three dimensions. The paper of the rubbing can record the surface structure of the traces, as if transferring the history and their information onto the paper, linking the rubbings of different places, perhaps a map, which could also serve as a book of Crystal Palace Park.
In the second session, I realised that my mind often jumps from two dimensions to three dimensions and then back to two dimensions. Therefore, when I observe space, I sometimes wonder how to express in two dimensions. The clock pointer tool I made indicates time, but also space, and is multidimensional.
