This exhibition brings together the work of 19 artists and designers for the RCA 2022 Wip Show. Thematically exploring the concept of ‘We are…’ they explore the different methodologies we use to engage with specific sites.
Workshop + Feedback + Lecture
MA Visual Communication’s Situated Practice: Site is pleased to invite people on to ‘SITE-seeing trip with Hilary Powell’ on Friday 28th January 2022.
In conjunction with a special lecture with Hillary Powell, MA Visual Communication students will be showcasing their work in progress. From investigating internet identities to writing love letters to a mountain range, this Situated Practice explores the definition of a ‘site’ and the ‘roles’ they were cast on site.
Hilary Powell works with hidden histories and overlooked techniques in acts of imaginative salvage - valuing the seemingly mundane. Her work spans from roller skating in urban precincts (Air/TFL commission) to organising operas in industrial hinterlands (The Acme Stephen Cripps Award at High House Production Park, ROH Purfleet).
